Shoppers trust a cart that speaks their language. HS Slide Cart Drawer Upsell lets you translate the texts of your cart drawer into every language your Shopify store offers, so each shopper sees the cart in the language they are browsing in.

How languages work

  • Your store's languages: the language list comes from the languages you have added in Shopify. If you add a new language to your store, refresh the language list in the app's translation settings.
  • Default language: editing your store's default language changes the original texts of the cart drawer.
  • Other languages: each field shows the original text next to your translation, so you always know what you are translating.
  • On the storefront: when a shopper views your store in a language, the cart uses your translations for that language. Any text you haven't translated shows the original text.

What you can translate

  • General cart texts, such as the cart title, subtotal, checkout button, remove and sold-out labels, free item text, discount code placeholder and the invalid code message.
  • The texts of the blocks you use, such as the empty cart, discount code, order note, gift wrap, terms and conditions, minimum order, rewards, tiered free items, subscription upgrades and the cart and continue shopping buttons.

Only content that exists in the cart drawer appears in the list. If you add a new block, its texts become available to translate.

Translate your cart

  1. Open the app's translation settings.
  2. Choose the cart drawer and the language.
  3. Type your translations. You can copy the original text into a field as a starting point.
  4. Save, then check the cart in that language on your storefront.

Multi-language stores

  • Translations belong to each cart drawer. If you use more than one cart drawer, translate each of them.
  • Keep placeholders in curly braces, such as {{amount}}, exactly as they are. The cart replaces them with live values.
  • For right-to-left languages such as Arabic or Hebrew, turn on the right-to-left layout in the cart design settings.

Best practices

  • Finish your cart design first, then translate, so every text is in place.
  • Keep translations about as short as the original so buttons don't wrap.
  • Switch languages on your storefront to review each translation in context.

Troubleshooting

  • A language is missing: add it to your store in Shopify, then refresh the language list.
  • Some texts still appear in the default language: make sure you saved and that you translated the right cart drawer. Untranslated fields fall back to the original text.
  • An amount or link is missing: restore the placeholder in curly braces exactly as it appears in the original text.
  • Nothing to translate: add content to that cart drawer first.
